From the beginning of human life on earth, man has always been sought to understand nature, his own place in the scheme of creation and purpose of his life. This quest for truth spanning many centuries and many diverse civilizations, organized religion has shaped human life and determination to a large extent. Yet the modern age and almost all scientific technology is actually the teaching and understanding that Allah has given us fourteen hundred years ago in the form of a book…… Al Quran.
Al Qura’an is the main source of the Islamic faith, which Allah Pak revealed to his Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through Angel Gibraiel. It was memorized by Muhammad and his followers. The followers in turn not only memorized but also wrote it down and reviewed it by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) . Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also reviewed the Qura’an once each year and twice in the last year of his life. From the time the Qura’an was revealed till today not even a single letter of Qur’an has been changed. Allah Pak also promised about this book that it will never change until the Day of Judgment!
In Al Qura’an the ultimate purpose of life is to be a good Muslim. In this regard one should know; what does Islam mean and who is called a Muslim. Islam means complete obedience and dutifulness to Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala. To give our self completely to Allah is actually Islam and is actually the true way to success. In Al Qura’an Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala says, “Will they not regard the camels how they are created? And the heavens, how it is raised? And the hills how they are set up? And the earth, how it is spread, everything that Allah has created is perfect and complete in its best form and shape”
So our life has a vital and important purpose in this universe, because Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala has created everything with a purpose. As Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala says in Al Qura’an, “Everthing that Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala created both in heavens and on the earth is for a purpose”.
Our lives are Amannah of Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala. A muslim should have to live within the bounds of Islam to accept the word of Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala and his messenger ’Sunnah as the criterion of truth and justice.
The value of time in Islam is very important. A few days ago people celebrated new year. Time waits for no one. Everybody in general and we as Muslims in particlar should ask ourselves, how we used our times? Time is a gift from Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Every muslim should spend some time to evaluate his own deeds and actions daily, monthly and yearly basis. A few of such activities duties and performances apart from our daily work should be purely for the sake of Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala .
A muslim should perform prayers five times, study Al Qura’an for the sake of getting knowledge and to please our Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala, read some Hadith and read something about Islamic literature and the most important one is to meet other people to spread teachings of Islam to enlighten the whole world with the spirit of Islam (purely for the sake of Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala).
Life after death is another factor which a muslim should strongly believe on by pure heart and soul and only saying is not enough. Our every action should be such from which fear from Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala and fear for life after death and finally the day of judgment should be reflected. It is reported that messenger of Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala said:
“Nobody will be executed on the day of Judgment until he has answered for his actions and the following four aspects of life;
- His age: How did he spend it?
- His youth: What did he do during it?
- His wealth : How did he earn and spend?
- His knowledge : What use he made of it?
Allah has pleased us with lots of good health, wealth and knowledge. When I am talking about knowledge, it doesn’t mean materialistic knowledge of the world but actually means complete and pure knowledge about Islam, about Al Qura’an, about Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH). Every aspect of human relationship is governed by social values. In Islam all values affecting man are based purely upon Al Qura’an. Al Qura’an is a supreme source of Knowledge. But unfortunately we the Muslims say that Allah is one and only creator, Prophet (PBUH) is the last messenger of Allah but our actions strongly disagree. We are badly entrapped in our materialistic life and forgotten the main purpose of our life.
Life is too short so we should have to spend it in a way that Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala wants for us. Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala ‘s will is the only way to success not only in this world but also in the eternal world.
Let’s suppose a little example that a man makes a house for himself and for his family, and wants windows in every room of his house. Now there are two intentions for making a window,
- For better ventilation
- For the sake of hearing the sound of Azan from window
If the man takes second intention while making window to please his Creator, his Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala then he must be benefited not only in this world but also the hereafter. In every field of life, like while drinking, eating, spending money in fact, doing every single action just to please Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala is the way to success.
Now the question arises, how can we know about Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala ‘s Will. Al Qura ‘an and Sunnah of our Prophet(PBUH) will tell us what is exactly the Will of Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala and all the deeds which please him and the deeds on which he becomes angry. So the knowledge of Al Qura’an and Sunnah is very important. Al Qura’an is the mandate from Allah Subbhanahu Wa Ta’ala to all mankind in which every aspect of life is given. The only way to success is Al Qura’an and Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).
