Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Federal Interior Minister in a press conference from National Database and Regulatory Authority’s (NADRA) headquarter has re-affirmed his decision to go ahead with the verification of National Identity Cards. He has announced to verify ID Cards of all Pakistani citizens and affirmed that the procedure of verification will be completed in six months.
Federal Interior Minister was forced to make this announcement after last week’s US drone strike leaving Afghan Taliban Chief Mullah Akhtar Mansoor dead in Balochistan, Pakistan and found out with fake National Identity Card and Passport.
Minister also announced that he has approved institutional changes within NADRA to efficiently complete and organize verification process. He further announced that government will give two months to all to surrender their fake identification documents and otherwise legal procedures will initiated against all the found out with fake documents.
Chaudhry Nisar also mentioned in his press conference that all NADRA staff members involved in the preparation of fake identification cards voluntarily provide details in two months and they no action will be taken against them.
Earlier, verification of SIMs was also completed in three months.
