End of Altaf’s Era???

M. Tahir Khan.

Altaf Hussain, leader of MQM has left no stone unturned to bring violence and destruction, but thanks to the efforts of our Law Enforcements Agencies and Security Forces that we remained safe and secured. We witnessed that on 22nd August Altaf Hussain simply failed to block and shut down Karachi and it was just a matter of half an hour that Karachi Police and Rangers reached at the spot and further damage to the public property couldn’t be made possible.

Altaf Hussain incited his workers for violence and used anti Pakistan slogans, but it is now finally proved that it is going to be the end of Altaf Hussain’s Era in the city of Karachi. No further shut downs and no more violence in the city will be observed and people will start to live without the shadows of fear. There was no purpose other than to bring Pakistan into limelight, first by conducting suicide attacks in Quetta, Balochistan that left 90 dead and over two hundred injured, and then incitement to violence in Karachi by none other MQM leader Altaf Hussain which was miserably failed and faces in disguise behind this unrest are now known to us and their affiliations are also understood. Both Brahamdagh Bugti and Altaf Hussain failed to oblige their masters (India / Narendra Modi) for the favors granted by them in terms of RAW funding and support, and also failed from their top assignment to divert international focus and media hype from the atrocities of Indian government against the public in Jammu and Kashmir.

Altaf Hussain for the past many years was serving the purposes of Indians and their Intelligence Agencies specially RAW, we have observed that on a single telephone call from London, Altaf Hussain used to shut the whole city, life to be paused, huge loss to the country in terms of lost finances because of no business activities and additionally people remained and lived under fear. However, in the last three years with the continued combat and intelligence based operations, the city has felt some level of comfort and moments of peace for the citizens of metropolitan, but Altaf Hussain failed to understand that he has lost his foothold in the city or there might be an intense pressure from his masters to divert the pressure being built on Indian government over their atrocities in the occupied valley. Narendra Modi and Ajit Doval, National Security Advisor not only failed to divert international focus from Occupied Kashmir, but also helped Pakistan in bringing out the real faces of their supporters hidden within the country.

Investigations into Karachi’s incitement to violence case is still underway, however while talking to media, Major General Bilal Akbar, Director General Rangers Sindh highlighted that the incident of 22nd August was fully pre-planned and was executed by MQM workers. DG Rangers briefed that these details were revealed by the workers of Altaf Hussain who got arrested after the violence. DG Rangers further revealed that the attack on the Media Houses were conducted by MQM workers as well on the directives of the party’s Rabita Committee and Central Executive Committee and attacks were launched soon after the speech of Altaf Hussain.

After one week of the incident, we have seen that few changes have been enforced. MQM under Dr. Farooq Sattar is still trying to differentiate between MQM Pakistan and MQM London, trying to convince everyone that there are no more connections with MQM London and all future decisions will be taken by Raabita Committee Pakistan without any interference from London and Altaf Hussain. This is one side of the story, but their opponents and political rivals specially Mustafa Kamal, Leader of Pak Sar Zameen Party (PSP) and Ex MQM Mayor Karachi is trying to convince the nation that MQM Leader Altaf Hussain and Raabita Committee cannot differentiate between each other; they are simply trying to cover up the whole scenario. The same view is being carried by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) that party can only differentiate from its leadership once they will resign from their National Assembly and Provincial Assembly Seats, otherwise they will be carrying the mandate being given by public to their leader Altaf Hussain.

In the meanwhile the citizens of Karachi have observed something unique that the city has never seen this happening. MQM Party Offices in the city and other parts are being closed, all banners and posters of Altaf Hussain have been removed, MQM offices built on government or illegal spaces are being demolished on daily basis, some of their leaders including Dr. Aamir Liaquat and Asif Hasnain have left their party and there is continued anger against the party but Dr. Farooq Sattar and his team is facing real trouble to come back, trying to convince other political parties but they are still in hot waters.

The federal government on the other hand is now aware of all the incidents of incitement and anti-Pakistan slogans. It is also known to everyone that it is a move to divert attention from the Occupied Kashmir, but there is lack of serious efforts at the moment from our government. Interior Ministry has just forwarded one reference against Altaf Hussain to the United Kingdom Government. Once again a big question arises here, is it enough to carry a simple reference against Altaf Hussain and his political party MQM? Political leadership of MQM present in Pakistan is enjoying the mandate of the people of Karachi given to Altaf Hussain not to their second tier leadership, is it possible to shift mandate of Altaf Hussain to second tier leadership? Is it possible for Waseem Akhtar, the new elected Mayor of Karachi to function on the mandate of Altaf Hussain? Is it possible for Dr. Farooq Sattar and team to disassociate themselves from their founding member?

These questions are very important and the upcoming days will decide the fate of Altaf Hussain, however time has changed and the future days will be decisive whether it is End of Altaf Hussain’s Era or Not?
