Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Imran Khan on Thursday criticized National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq for being biased and impartial. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq forwarded the reference to the Election Commission of Pakistan for disqualification of Imran Khan from the legislature, whereas he rejected all four references against the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other members of his family.
Imran Khan said that he is clear over declaring his assets as well as the flat he owned in London under Niazi Services, which was clearly mentioned in the sale deed presented by him earlier. He also clarified that by that time he bought the flat, his mother Shaukat Khanam was alive and the trust was created almost six years after it.
Members of the PTI staged a walkout from the House after Imran’s remarks in the NA. The PTI chief criticized the Speaker’s ruling on disqualification references against Khan.
Speaking to journalists outside the National Assembly, Khan said, “I referred to him as Ayaz Sadiq, not as the Speaker. In my opinion, he is not a speaker. A speaker is supposed to be unbiased.”
While opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah admired Imran Khan’s speech and said that for the first time he spoke maturely.
Earlier, Khan also hinted that the plan for Raiwind march is not finalized yet, date and place for protest would be settled after consultations with the other opposition parties.
