Muslims in Indian held Kashmir spent their Eid under curfew in entire Valley. All the 10 districts of Kashmir valley were under curfew and high surveillance through helicopters and drones.
Two protesters have been killed in clashes with security forces in a rare Eid curfew in the valley, while 60 others were reported injured as a result of violence and clashes with security forces as they blocked access to several mosques for Eid prayer.
Mobile and data services also remained suspended. Officials said the Eid shutdown was to stop plans by separatists to march to the UN observers’ office in Srinagar.
This is for the first time in 26 years since the onset of militancy that no Eid congregations held at the Eidgah and Hazratbal shrines in Srinagar.
