ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) can now suspend the channel if any Indian content is aired. No notice will be served prior to suspension of the channel.
Decision was taken on Tuesday by the PEMRA board, authorizing Chairman to suspend the channels without prior notice. As per current policy, only 10 per cent foreign content that is more than two hours and 40 minutes in 24 hours while the airing of Indian content is limited to 6 per cent which is a little less than one hour and 35 minutes daily.
Earlier, on 31st August PEMRA announced banned on airing illegal Indian content from 15th of October of exceeding from the allowed limit.
