Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that international community has given a positive response on Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue. In an interview, he said that Pakistan cannot change its position in regard to Kashmir issue and is completely active at diplomatic fronts to raise the voice for the basic rights of Kashmiri people.
Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan will keep on condemning the Indian brutalities in Kashmir at all international forums and will extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people to maximum extent. India can never succeed to divert the world’s attention from the Kashmir issue through Uri-like inside jobs. He also said that under the reign of Narendra Modi, apparently there is no hope of improvement in Indo-Pak relations.
Sartaj Aziz hoped that if Kashmir Freedom Movement in occupied Kashmir continues on high note then pressure from international community can enforce India to resolve the Kashmir dispute. The resolution of Kashmir dispute should always be in accordance to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
He said that during interactions at various platforms across the globe, the majority viewed that the process of dialogue should resume between Pakistan and India. Answering a couple of questions, Sartaj Aziz said that India cannot violate the Indus Water Treaty unilaterally and also there is no harm in sealing Indo-Pak border as per India’s will if the points of trade and public movement are maintained.
Sartaj Aziz also said that Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan and is following the policy of non-interference in Afghanistan. During the Brussels conference, all the participants agreed that the Afghan issue would be resolved through dialogue process. He further said that some elements do not want dialogues between the Afghan government and Taliban whereas Pakistan welcomes the accord between the Afghan government and Engineer Gulbadin Hikmatyar.
