Corps Commander Conference termed the Fabricated Story as National Security Breach

Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif has chaired a high level Corps Commander Conference that expressed serious concerns over false and fabricated story of an English newspaper. The story that was published last week declared national security as vulnerable and raised question marks over it. The meeting has declared that the news report has breached the terms of national security on a high note, ISPR reported.

The Corp Commanders meeting has come in a week after Cyril Almeida, a journalist, affiliated with an English newspaper, published a story that the government, on the other end, has denied a couple of times. The story claimed to have revealed the confidential discussions of National Security Committee (NSC) meeting presided over by the Prime Minister and attended by top military leadership.

Participants of Corps Commander Conference, chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif also held a comprehensive analysis of the country’s internal and external security situation. The particular focal point remained the escalating environment at Line of Control (LoC) and operational preparations of Army to counter any kind of untoward situation.

In the meeting, the hoax of Surgical Strikes was also brought into limelight and the participants agreed that Indian claims of Surgical Strikes are just loose tactics to divert world’s attention from Indian brutality in Kashmir. Any kind of irresponsible act against Pakistan would be retaliated befittingly, the meeting ensured.

COAS while elaborating the success of Operation Zarb-e-Azb stated that the resultant stability has been achieved to accelerate Pakistan into a new phase of development and prosperity. General Raheel Sharif re-emphasized the need to deal with internal security issues to defeat all the odds. Corps Commanders also vowed to continue the sustained and focused Intelligence based and Combing Operations in collaboration with NAP, to uproot the terrorism, ISPR reported.
