Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted the documentary evidence to support the party’s stance on the Panama-Gate Scandal hearing at the Supreme Court on Tuesday 15th Nov. The respective written document also consists of more than 600 pages that is being submitted by Chairman PTI Imran Khan through his legal advisor Advocate Hamid Khan.
Details of all the bank accounts that are owned by Sharif family and its bank loans waivers are included in documentary evidence by PTI to strengthen the case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members. PTI believes that through this evidence, it would become further easier to prove Sharif family guilt and hold the family members accountable.
In the meanwhile, Sharif family has changed its lawyer for the case and appointed senior lawyer Akram Sheikh who has replaced former Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt. Akram Sheikh would now be taking up the case of Panama Leaks from the next hearing. The decision has been taken on the will of Maryam Safdar, Hussain Nawaz & Hassan Nawaz.
In reaction, Maryam Safdar slammed PTI for submitting the evidence that Supreme Court of Pakistan has already rejected. In her tweet, Maryam Safdar said that despite having raised so much hype and cry, Tehreek-e-Insaf got failed in presenting authentic evidence of her family’s alleged corruption before Apex Court in Panama Leaks Case. She tweeted;
So much hue and cry, slanderous allegations & attempts at defaming the Sharifs & this is what you come up with! pic.twitter.com/VvLw0cBIAl— Maryam Nawaz Sharif (@MaryamNSharif) November 14, 2016
Apart from that, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is likely to participate in Parliament’s Joint Session as well, which will be addressed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Earlier, PTI had decided to boycott the joint session of parliament stating the reason that PM Nawaz Sharif has the controversial character under the consequences and PTI does not accept the presence of corrupt and fake Prime Minister in the Parliament.
While talking to media after meeting Turkish Ambassador Sadik Babar Girgin, Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi told that that the purpose of meeting Turkish Ambassador was to inform that why PTI won’t be attending the Joint Session of Parliament. He said that the Turkish Ambassador has requested them to review the decision of not attending the Joint Session of Parliament.
Qureshi added that the party has immense respect for the Turkish President while Chairman PTI Imran Khan has also very strong ties with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Qureshi further added that they only wanted to make people understand PTI’s principle stand. But now, after Turkish Ambassador’s request to review the decision, PTI has decided to ponder over it in party meeting. That was a friendly meet up, not a diplomatic meeting, said the PTI leader.
The Turkish ambassador has suggested PTI to review its decision of not attending Parliament’s Joint Session. Earlier, PTI had plans to talk to Turkish Ambassador for arranging separate meeting of PTI Officials with the Turkish President. But now, after Turkish Ambassador’s request, PTI has decided to review its decision is likely to be there in Parliament’s Joint Session.
