Change of Command Ceremony

After the appointment of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Chief of Army Staff and General Zubair Mehmood Hayat as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the Change of Command Ceremony will be held on 29th November at 10:30 AM in General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

The outgoing Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif will hand over the “Command Stick” to incoming Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. In the ceremony, General Raheel Sharif will be there as a Chief Guest.

Former Army Chiefs and senior military officials will also be there at the Change of Command Ceremony that will take place in GHQ. Federal Ministers, Parliamentarians and Foreign Diplomats will also attend the ceremony.

Chief of Army Staff-designate General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee-designate General Zubair Mahmood Hayat were separately called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad in evening yesterday.

The Prime Minister congratulated both the generals on their promotions and said that after taking charge of their new responsibilities, General Qamar Javed Bajwa Zubair and General Zubair Mehmood Hayat will continue to serve the country in the best way and come up to the nation’s expectations as well.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa and General Zubair Mahmood Hayat thanked the Prime Minister and said that Pakistan’s defence is invincible and our armed forces will not hesitate ever to render any sacrifice for defence of the motherland.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, along with his relatives and friends, also visited the grave of his late father Colonel Muhammad Iqbal Bajwa and offered Fateha Khuani.
