Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated yet another Metro Bus Service, this time in Southern Punjab’s city, Multan which will take citizens around the city for only Rs. 20. Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif were also present on the occasion. PM Nawaz Sharif also took a ride in the metro following the inauguration.
The 18 km long track consisting of 21 stations begins from Bahauddin Zakariya University and ends at Kumharan Chowk. 14 stations are situated at flyovers while seven are located on land routes. It took Rs. 28.88 Billion for the completion of Metro Bus Project and 35 buses will operate on the route in initial phase providing transportation to around 95000 people every day.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the Metro Bus Project is a gift to the people of Multan from the government. He said on a loud applause from the audience in response that they are not here for political point scoring but for giving people their rights.
Taunting Imran Khan, PM added that where is Naya Pakistan for which people have always talked about. If anyone wants to see Naya Pakistan, he can visit Multan, PM said. He continued and said about Imran Khan indirectly that new scandals are on their way and will expose those people soon who use abusive languages.
The Prime Minister also credited CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for making sure the completion of Multan Metro Bus Project and said that extreme dedication from Shahbaz Sharif made it possible in just 1.5 years. He further added that motorway would also come to Multan soon and other energy projects will also be brought to Multan to further lessen the already gifted problem of Load-Shedding.
Sit-ins have delayed the Development Projects, claims CM Punjab
Earlier addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif notified that Multan Metro Bus Project is better than the Lahore and RWP-ISB Metro Bus Projects in terms of quality. He emphasized the need for proper road infrastructure for the progress of a nation and said that the PM Nawaz Sharif has laid the foundation stone for development in all four provinces.
Shahbaz Sharif also claimed that his elder brother Nawaz Sharif is free from all kinds of corruption and is deeply concerned for the well being of the nation, adding that the Federal Government has also released further funds for Karachi’s Green Line Project. Bashing the opposition, Shahbaz Sharif claimed that sit-in protests have delayed the completion of several developmental projects and nation will never forgive those people being its cause.
