Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasir Bin Khalifa Al Thani has sought assistance from the Pakistan Army to ensure the security for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Prime Minister of Qatar has asked Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to also include provision of manpower during the mega event in Qatar.
AS per Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Prime Minister of Qatar was having a meeting with COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa who is on an official visit to Qatar. The Prime Minister of Qatar praised the contributions of Pakistan Army towards ensuring regional peace and also expressed his desire to learn from Pakistan Army’s experience in security’s domain.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasir acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions towards development and growth of Qatar. He said that people of Qatar greatly value people of Pakistan and trust their time tested commitment for working in Qatar. He also shared his desire to move forward with Pakistan on multiple fronts including Cyber Security, Defence Matter and Ease of Travel.
General Bajwa thanked the Prime Minister for his expression and assured him all possible cooperation in the respective fields. During his visit, General Qamar Bajwa also met Commander Qatar Emiri Land Forces Major General Muhammad Ali Ghanim Al Ghanim and Commander Qatar Emiri Guard Major General Hazza Bin Khalil Al Shahwani.
Commander Qatar Emiri Land Forces Major General Muhammad Ali Ghanim Al Ghanim, during his meeting with General Bajwa appreciated Pakistan Army’s Professionalism and Performance in ongoing war against terrorism. He also showed his interest for joint training and field exercises which was assured by the Army Chief.
COAS also visited the Qatar Emiri Guard Headquarters and met Major General Hazza Bin Khalid Al Shahwani. He visited Ahmed Bin Mohamed Military College as well where Pakistani Tri-Services contingent of 166 members is under training.
