Actress Veena Malik has obtained divorce from her husband Asad Khattak ending their three years of marriage. Veena Malik had filed an application in a family court in Lahore seeking divorce from Asad Khattak due to several differences stating that both of them now cannot live together under the ongoing consequences.
Revealed by sources, Veena Malik had rift with Asad Khattak and his family over her return to showbiz after which she filed an application in court. The court ruled in Veena Malik’s favour over non-pursuance of the case by her husband who did not appear before the court during case proceedings. Judge Kaisar Jameel Gujjar had issued decree in favour of Veena Malik on 31st January, 2017.
The couple got married on 25th December 2013 and has two children named Abram and Amal who are currently in the custody of Veena Malik. When contacted, Veena Malik refused to talk on the issue stating that she does not want to talk on this particular issue for being sensitive in nature.
On the other end, Asad Khattak while talking to a News Channel, said that he loves Veena Malik a lot and wants to reconcile with her as she is a very good wife and mother. He hoped that their elders will sort out their problems and soon everything will be settled down and both of them will live happily again.
Veena’s father Aslam Malik said that Asad Khattak is like their son and they will continue cordial relations with him. However, Dower Money was 2000 Dirhams from which 25% will be returned to Asad Khattak as per law, because it’s Veena Malik had applied for divorce.
