Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has chaired a high-level security meeting at Prime Minister House and reviewed progress and achievements of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. Nawaz Sharif also directed to enhance the pace of operation Radd-ul-Fasaad which began last month, following a strong terror wave across the country. It was also reiterated unanimously that elimination of extremism and terrorism are policy imperatives for National Security.
On the occasion, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, National Security Advisor Lt. General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua and DG ISI Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar and other senior Civil and Military Officials were also present.
In the meeting chaired by PM Nawaz Sharif, PM expressed his satisfaction on the progress of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and lauded the performance of Pakistan Military and other Law Enforcement Agencies for apprehending several suspects and other culprits. COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad will take on all miscreants and play a key role in bringing back peace in the country.
Besides this, various laws governing the anti-terrorism efforts were also reviewed and ways and means to make these laws more effective were brought into limelight in the high level meeting. It was also decided to ensure better implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) by the Federal and Provincial Governments on all respective levels. The recent initiatives on better management of Pak-Afghan Border were also discussed in detail.
The participants of the meeting also paid rich tributes to the sacrifices given by Military and Civil Security Personnel and peace loving people of Pakistan as well for imparting their role in War against Terrorism. It was emphasized that enemies of peace and development will never be allowed to disrupt the attainment of peace and security across the country.
It should be noted that on 22nd February, Pakistan Army launched a new counter-terror operation named “Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad” across the country, which aims at indiscriminately eliminating residual and latent threats of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders as well.
