Zainab Qayyum lashes out at Rabi Peerzada for irresponsible social media post

Entertainment Desk

The entertainment industry is full of people who have fallen from grace after a spell of popularity, and singer Rabi Peerzada is no different. She started out with a few hits in 2005, but it was not long before her musical career began to nosedive, and never recovered. She attempted to salvage her reputation through acting, but her debut film Shor Sharaaba released in 2018 was a critical and commercial disaster.

The entertainment industry is full of people who fell from grace after a spell of popularity, and singer Rabi Peerzada is no different. She started out with a few hits in 2005, but it was not long before her musical career began to nosedive, and never recovered. She attempted to salvage her reputation through acting, but her debut film Shor Sharaaba released in 2018 was a critical and commercial disaster.

Of late, Rabi has been trying to keep herself in the public eye through controversial and attention-seeking tweets on her Twitter account.  But it seems as if her latest stunt has backfired, earning her massive backlash, most notably from model-turned-TV host-turned-actor Zainab Qayyum, or ZQ as she is better known.

Earlier this week, Rabi posted a rather graphic, and very disturbing, image of herself lying on the floor covered in blood. It appeared that her wrists had been slit, and the hashtags and caption used gave the impression that she was encouraging people to commit suicide if they were unsuccessful in love.

Zainab Qayyum lashed out at the post, stating that it was extremely irresponsible to glorify and encourage suicide in a day and age when people need to reach out to their loved ones and help them with depression.

Many of Zainab’s Instagram followers expressed their agreement with the thoughts expressed in her post.

However, there were some people who believed – perhaps rightly so – that Zainab Qayyum sharing Rabi’s post was giving the latter the traction she did not deserve. This prompted ZQ to respond and explain why she felt the need to share her feelings about Rabi’s stunt.

It is still not clear what Rabi was hoping to achieve by putting up this post. Despite intense backlash from all quarters, she has still not deleted any of the posts, on Twitter and Instagram, and she has not offered any concrete explanation.
