While he did not make as many waves as Fawad Khan, Imran Abbas has definitely proved his mettle in
Bollywood. His Bollywood debut in Creature 3D may have bombed, but he successfully managed to
redeem himself with his cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
In a recent appearance on Samina Peerzada’s web show, the Pakistani heartthrob was quite open about
how many Indian projects he was offered, and if reports are to be believed, he might just be offered
another Bollywood project – assuming, of course, that India removes the ban on Pakistani actors first.
Gulf News reports that film-maker Abhinav Shiv Tiwari has approached Imran Abbas for a role in his yet
unnamed upcoming film.
This is not the first time that Imran Abbas was approached for a film role.
He had earlier been approached to play a minor role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish (2010), but he
declined and later the part was taken up by Aditya Roy Kapur.
The actor also told Samina Peerzada on her show, “Rejecting Aashqui 2 and Ram Leela were one of the
few decisions I regret at that time. Now, I don’t have any remorse.”
He has also said that the only reason he accepted the role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was because it was
helmed by Dharma Productions.
He has also been offered roles in Hollywood. The star earlier revealed he would be playing a spy of
Syrian-Morrocan descent in a film titled The Trojan Horse. “I have many get-ups in the film and I will be
seen in about six to seven disguises as I play the lead protagonist,” he shared.
While Imran is still forging on with his work in Pakistani dramas, we think it would be interesting to see
whether the Tiwari project materializes and how it turns out.
