News Desk

There were ugly scenes at the New Islamabad International Airport as passenger including ministers of Gilgit-Baltistan protested after a Gilgit-bound flight of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was cancelled on Thursday.

The flight had earlier been delayed for several hours because of a technical issue before PIA decided to cancel the flight altogether.

Ministers from G-B including Tourism Minister Fida khan and Law Minister Aurangzeb Advocate brawled with officers and set fire to their own coats in protest at the airport lounge.

The inconvenienced passengers had announced that they would continue the protests until the flight was resumed, however, after talks with the CAA they decided to end their protest.

The PIA administration assured passengers that the cancelled flight will depart for Gilgit on Friday morning.
