The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Habib Bank Limited (HBL) have signed a renewed contract for the title sponsorship for the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The new deal is worth three times more than the original 3-year deal signed before the inaugural PSL in 2016.
This PCB will receive $14.3 million as part of the new sponsorship deal; while the deal signed in 2016 was worth $5.2 million over 3 years.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had hired a consultant to assess the PSL’s brand value before signing a new contract and it looks to have paid dividends.
PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani has expressed his delight over the renewal of the deal and said it shows the commitment and resolve of HBL with PSL and Pakistan cricket.
“We have partnered for a phenomenal journey so far, and we hope to work closely with HBL on the tournament, various activations, and an unprecedented marketing campaign,” said Mani.
The President and CEO of HBL Muhammad Aurangzeb shared Mr. Mani’s thoughts feeling.
PSL has come a long way, and HBL is proud to have partnered with a world class league. As we gear up for the next three exciting years of ‘HBL PSL’, we look forward to providing more opportunities to the young cricketers, to enable their dreams of becoming international cricket stars.
The fourth edition of the PSL will kick off on February 14, 2019. This time eight matches of the tournament will take place in Pakistan with the final set for Karachi again.
