Legendary Bollywood actor/screenwriter, Kader Khan, known largely for his comedic acting roles and wittily written dialogue passed away on New Years Day 2019. He died at the age of 81 after having spent the past 16-17 weeks in a hospital in Canada.
Kader Khan was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and later moved to India where he went on to star in over 300 films. The prolific actor was also a well respected screen writer and contributed to the dialogue of 200 films between the mid 1970s and 1999.
His most memorable roles were acting opposite Govinda, as the duo would often leave the audience in stitches. Kader Khan was still acting until recently. His last film came out in 2017. He could not continue working for much longer since he was suffering from a degenerative disease that eventually took his life.
Influential voices in Bollywood and even the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi tweeted about the sad demise of the actor.
Influential people from Pakistan also began to send their condolences, with Hamid Mir being one of the few to tweet about Kader Khan.
