Rashtriya Swamyasevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar called actors Aamir Khan and Naseer-uddin Shah, as well as cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu traitors.
He likened them to Rajput king Jaichand and the Najafi Nawab of Bengal Mir Jafar while referring to the trio as traitors.
Speaking to the media after an event he said that “India doesn’t need Muslim youth like Ajmal Kasab (loneterrorist caught alive after 26/11 attack) but rather like former president APJAbdul Kalam. Those who walk on the path of Kasab will be considered only astraitors.”
He added “They may be good actors (Navjot Singh Sidhu and Aamir Khan) but they don’t deserve respect as they are traitors,” “They are like Mir Jafar and Jaichand,” he said.
Mir Jafar was the first Najafi Nawab of Bengal, whose rule was considered to be the beginning of the British Raj, and Jaichand was a king of the Gahadavala dynasty, who is remembered as a symbol of treachery in folktales.
This is not the first time that Naseeruddin Shah is facing the Sangh parivaar’s wrath. Both the RSS and the BJP leaders had called him a “traitor” after he had claimed that India has turned into a land where a cow is given more importance than a policeman, after the killing of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh in Bulandshahr mob violence.
Kumar also alleged that the Congress and left parties, communal forces, and a few judges were responsible for the delay in the hearing of the Ayodhya land dispute. “I appeal to the saints and sadhus to sit on dharna outside the Congress office, offices of the left parties and outside the house of judges who are delaying the matter,” he said.
