At least 20 people including six civilians were injured in a firing and hand grenade attack on the office of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Loralai, Balochistan.
The attack took place during a recruitment interview for a low-level government position.
Police and paramilitary reinforcements have been called in after the incident in Loralai which is the Division Headquarter of Zhob Division in Balochistan.
According to the security forces, four gunmen entered the office of Deputy Inspector General of Police. All the attackers have been killed and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital while the area is cordoned off by security forces.
Inspector General of Police Balochistan Mohsin Hassan Butt confirmed the development and said that a recruitment test for police clerks was the target of the attack. The office was initially fired on, which was followed by an explosion, he said. The nature of the blast is yet to be confirmed.
Medical Superintendent of Loralai Civil Hospital Dr. Faheem said that the condition of the two civilians had been deteriorating so theywere shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Loralai.
