Margot Robbie has teased the first glimpse of her upcoming DC superhero film Birds of Prey. She will reprise her role of Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.
Robbie also teased the title of the film as Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, hinting that the she will finally part ways with the Joker with whom she has been in a physically and mentally abusive relationship.
Shortly before the teaser landed, Robbie posted a picture of herself in character on Instagram with a caption that read “Miss me HQ”. She can be seen sporting blonde hair, red lips, a clear jacket and several chains.
In the teaser, Robbie is joined by castmates Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor.
In the eighth DC film, Harley Quinn must team up with superheroines Huntress (Winstead), Black Canary (Smollett-Bell), and Renee Montoya (Perez) to save Cassandra Cain (Basco) from the brutal crime lord Black Mask (Gregor) and his henchman, the prolific serial killer Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina).
Birds of Prey serves as a spinoff to Suicide Squad and it is slated to release on February 7, 2020.
