Editorial Desk

E-Rozgaar is a program introduced by the Punjab government in 2017. The program aims to tackle unemployment within Pakistan by setting up free training centers for people all over Punjab.

The initiative was started by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). E-Rozgaar has centers in 36 districts of Punjab to provide training to budding freelancers so they can enhance their professional capabilities. Programs include everything from technical to non-technical to creative design courses as well. Some examples of what you could learn includes web development, logo designing, content marketing, WordPress, HTML & CSS and much more.

The program is available free of cost to everyone who has completed 16 years of education and is under the age of 35. Laptops are provided to all students and learning these skills helps them earn a living after the end of the 3 month program.

E-Rozgaar’s team at the University of Gujrat-Rawalpindi Campus had a presentation session summing up the learning practices of the past two months. Trainees of the creative domain presented their ideas of branding a cafe named ‘Uptown’ to exhibit their skills. Trainees were taught about the basics of branding, logo designing, mockup presentation, and menu card designing. It was an interactive session attended by content marketing trainees as well, to give them exposure to creative designing. The activity ended up with acknowledging the runner up and winner teams by the site manager.
