Movie teasers released during Super Bowl

Entertainment Desk

The Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event on American television, featuring the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots brought with it special ideas and teasers for upcoming movies.

Some of the best ads were from upcoming superhero and sci-fi movies. Here’s a list of the best teasers from last night.

Avengers End Game

A new 30-second teaser offers a glimpse of Earth’s mournful survivors. The biggest difference between this teaser and the first theatrical trailer is that we see the impact the Decimation has had on the larger world. The early shots show a desolate, empty version of New York, with Steve Rogers attending a support group for survivors of Thanos’ attack.

We can see the Statue of Liberty with dozens of ships docked nearby. It’s not a stretch to imagine the Decimation has caused a worldwide refugee crisis.

Captain Marvel

A new teaser for Captain Marvel, the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, finds Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) showing the boys who’s the boss including Samuel L. Jackson’s character Nicky Fury and Jude Law’s villain, Yon-Rogg.

It shouldn’t be too surprising that there isn’t too much new information revealed in the teaser, though, the movie comes out in just over a month.

Toy Story 4

The new teaser for Pixar’s highly anticipated Toy Story 4 brings Bo Peep back to the franchise for the first time in 20 years. Bo Peep made her debut in Toy Story 2 in 1999, but she won’t be the same Bo Peep we remember.

The trailer also sheds some light on some of the franchise’s new characters and of course Buzz Lightyear. Toy Story 4 will arrive in cinemas 9 years after Toy Story 3.

Alita The Battle Angel

The cyberpunk action film is based on the animated series called Battle Angel Alita. In the new teaser we can see Rosa Salazar’s cybernetic title character did not come to make friends. It also gives us a better look at Mahershala Ali as the villainous character Vector, who’s hell-bent on destroying Alita.

The movie is directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw

The trailer of Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw was also premiered at the Super Bowl. The latest movie in the Fast franchise features Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham who reprise their roles from original films. Idris Elba plays terrorist leader and criminal mastermind Brixton Lore. Hobbs and Shaw must team up to fight the new threat that emerges from the genetically enhanced supervillian Lore.

Wonder Park

Nickelodeon’s upcoming animated movie Wonder Park’s trailer was also released. Wonder Park tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3
